Just a quick shout-out to my friends Tessa Dare and Lena Diaz who both have books coming out today from Avon!
Tessa’s book, A WEEK TO BE WICKED, is a fabulously fun and sexy historical about a rake and a bluestocking (love!) and Lena’s book, SIMON SAYS DIE, is an edge of your seat, sexy romantic suspense reunited lovers story! Both of which are tropes I adore!
To celebrate, I’m giving away a copy of Tessa’s book and a copy of Lena’s book to to two lucky commenters who share with us their favorite romance tropes. Do you love arranged marriages? Or maybe you’re a fan of secret babies? Tell me below for a chance to win!

Happy Release Day, Tessa & Lena!! One of my favorite tropes is abduction. I secretly love the way the characters are kind of forced to deal with each other usually on a one on one basis with an edge of suspense and danger.
What a great giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to read these.

Ooh, Tina! That’s a good one. Any situation that forces close proximity (like a cop protecting a witness, or being snowed in, or whatever) makes for a fun read. I think both of these books have that element, actually. So, you’re in luck!

Love Tessa Dare’s heroines and heroes — and her homey book trailers using her daughter’s toys!
And Lena’s book looks fabulous too! Scarey, but fab!
Fav trope would be…hmmm…. the good, innocent girl who wants to break out of her shell and finds the bad, wicked rake who can help her out. And in the process, he’s won over to the light.
And ugly ducklings who find love with their special dukes too, of course! Thanks Manda!

Aww, thanks, Pam!
I definitely think Tessa’s book will be right up your alley. Colin and Minerva are wonderful together. And they fit your scenario perfectly:)
I haven’t read Lena’s book yet, but it features a hero we’ve already seen in He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not and his former love, whom he’s protecting from a stalker. So, lots of fun there, too!

If it’s a ‘beauty and the beast’ type of romance, chances are I’ll probably read it.
I also love the bluestocking + rake combination!

Mmm, Julie! Beauty and the beast stories are great! One of my faves is Elizabeth Hoyt’s To Beguile a Beast. Love that book so much! Thanks for sharing that with us!

I’m a sucker for any book where the hero and heroine already know each other. Whether they be old lovers, friends or enemies. I love them all. I just love that there always seems to be so many sparks between them.
Comment
You’re in luck, Danielle, because in BOTH of these books the hero and heroine are already acquainted with one another before the story begins. I really like stories where the hero and heroine have some history together too. Sometimes the timeline in romances seems pretty rushed–not to say that it doesn’t happen that fast sometimes, but I like to see a relationship grow and change over time too. Good to “see” you!

I am SO excited Tessa’s book is out today! When it comes to tropes, it HAS to be the ones between two highly unlikely people. Whether it’s mega-rich and wrong-side-of-the-track hero/heroine, bait and switch in the form of BFFs girl/guy, or happenstance meetings…I devour mismatched couples. Afterall, ‘opposites attract’ or so Paula Abdul told me growing up.
Comment
Hah, Chrissy! Paula Abdul and that cartoon cat were right! Opposites do attract;) I really love mismatched couples too. From a writer’s standpoint, they’re much easier to write too because the conflict just seems to erupt between them. Also having them opposed to one another in some way, whether it’s background, occupation, or personality type, makes it that much sweeter when they come together for their HEA!
You’re going to love Tessa’s book. I read it in an earlier form and it was fabulous even then. And I am dying (haha) to read Lena’s book because I had a crush on the hero in her previous book:)
Thanks for coming by!

I love Tessa Dare’s books… Love historical romances…. I love the arranged marriages especially…. I also like misunderstandings too… But not if they are too stupid and you wonder why the characters don’t just talk about it openly and solve the problem in 10 pages…
Haven’t read Lena’s books though….

I love Tessa’s books too, May. And arranged marriages:) Totally agree about the misunderstanding! It’s so frustrating when you know that a quick conversation could clear everything up. Though I suppose it depends on the author. In the right hands I can enjoy just about any trope.
I really enjoyed Lena’s first book. Can’t wait to read Simon Says Die too. She’s great at suspense!

Hi Manda! I am an absoulutely fan of secret babies. It’s always very interesting to watch two different strangers gets attracted to each other because of the bay. Babies always add a special intense emotion inside a story:D

I like secret babies too, Aretha! Though I have to be in the mood for them. You’re so right about the baby adding emotion to the story! Thanks for stopping by!
